Here are some common arguments against single-sex classes:
.) Social skills between genders are put on hold.
.) Not all studies show academic improvement
.) Some believe it promotes gender discrimination.
.) Studies do not show enough improvement to garner the money needed to start single sex classrooms and train teachers. Funding can be used for more helpful things.
.) May lead to gender stereotypes due to lack of exposure to the opposite sex.
.) students would be unprepared for the real world where men and women interact.
.) The American Council on Education report that there is less academic disparity girls and boys overall and more of a gap between advantaged and disadvantaged students
.) Teachers are untrained to handle single sex classrooms.
